The First Light Shawl is a capelet style shawl that is created by working from the center point out. Once you get through setting up your shawl (photo tutorials are included in the pattern detailing the set up), it is a one row repeat of puff stitches and EHDCs until you reach your desired length! There are also notes included in the pattern about not only customizing the length and wingspan of your shawl, but also how to increase the amount of coverage that your shawl provides. The First Light Shawl will fly off your hook!

This pattern was thoroughly tested by a group of lovely crocheters who provided wonderful feedback to help make this pattern easy to understand and follow! If there are any questions about the pattern though, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Note about yarn choice: LB Collection Superwash Merino has a yardage of 306 yds/100g, which is slightly more than your average skein of DK weight yarn. Testers successfully used both DK and sport weight yarn to complete their shawl.
