Fish otolith - National Archaeology Week 2022
This is a written pattern (with photographs) of a 3-dimensional Golden Perch otolith (fish ear bone) created and shared as a free resource for National Archaeology Week (NAW) 2022.
Otoliths are small bones found in the inner ear of certain fish, and when found in archaeological sites they can provide useful information about past fish populations, environments, and patterns in human fishing choices. This pattern uses US terminology and uses the following stitch types:
Ch – chain
Sl st – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
INC – single crochet increase
DEC – single crochet decrease
DC – double crochet
