This is a cute, very warm, soft and squishy hat to make for fall and winter, although it is not very defensive against the wind. It’s also very flattering, and will not squish your hair if you fix it.
Freebie: I made this hat in adult sizing, but have also made it in smaller child sizing: cutting the number of stitches cast on down to 66, make the ribbing 5” total before starting decreases and skip to the line after the decrease round that has the corresponding amount of stitches, continue the rest of the pattern.
