Fisherman’s Hat
The inspiration for this hat came from my beloved husband @apicturedocumentary who always always wears a hat and so challenged me to make a crochet one!
This hat is very much costumisable as you only have to increase or decrease the first rows, this pattern is written for baby size 6-10mo and adult size, so if you wanted to make it bigger you’ll continue after row 12 and keep increasing rows (eg. 11 sc, inc. 12 sc, inc. 13 sc, inc. etc…), just make sure the base covers the top of your head (for my husband’s hat it was 16 rows of increase). Then you only have to do one sc on every st until it covers the length to you ears. For the brim I used half of the number used for the length, eg: in the written pattern for 6-10mo I did 16 rows for the body (body: from the base to the length desired) so I did a 8 sts brim +1 ch. remember to always include a +1ch. Also if you just wanted a chunkier brim add more chains to it. If you wanted to make a smaller hat just reduce the increasing rows.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at @cosmichooks or whenspringawakens@gmail.com
This pattern is for personal use only. Distribution is not allowed.
Enjoy making this hat as much as I enjoyed designing it!!
