Can you believe thats crochet? It looks like knitting, but I promise you it IS CROCHET! This pattern, the beautiful Fisherman’s Lid, is so simple it is shocking. You’ll love the outcome, I promise! This is an advanced beginner pattern, but the stitches used are just a play on half double crochets! I included a photo tutorial that will explain the modification and some tips for working it up. There are stitch counts for newborn, 0-3 m, 3-6 m, 6-12 m, toddler, youth and adult.

YOU WILL NEED:
› 1 ball of worsted weight (size 4) yarn
› Size J (6 mm) crochet hook
› Yarn Needle
› Pom-Pom
› Scissors

Yarn Recommendation: I made this beanie with Berroco Vintage, a worsted weight yarn. The label states the gauge is 18s x 24r = 4” on size 7 knitting needles they did not have a crochet gauge ☹, use this gauge to help find a yarn that is similar! Cascade Yarns Pacific and Knit Picks Mighty Stitch are exact gauge matches.

Gauge for the pattern: 4 inches of body pattern = 16s x 15r = 4” Remember that since it is worked sideways, stitches change the height!

Yardage: Newborn beanie uses less than 80 yards of yarn; the adult beanie uses closer to 130 yards.
