LENGTH: 130 cm / 51 inches
DEPTH: 13 cm / 5 inches across the centre 18 cm / 7 inches with each wing slimming towards each end.
MATERIALS
-50 g Kit Couture Cashmere, 100 % cashmere (175 m / 191 yards per 25 g).
-Contrast coloured waste yarn of similar weight as two strands of the Kit Couture Cashmere held together – for the Italian cast on.
RECOMMENDED NEEDLES
4.0 mm / US 6 circular needle (80 cm / 32 inches)
GAUGE
17 sts in Half Fisherman’s rib on a 4.0 mm / US 6 needles holding 2 strands of the Kit Couture Cashmere together = 10 cm / 4 inches.
HALF FISHERMAN’S RIB
All right side rows: purl 1, knit 1 in the knit stitch in the row below. (see photo 2), rep * -* to end of row.
All wrong side rows: knit all sts.
Repeat these 2 rows.
ABOUT THE DESIGN
With contrast coloured waste yarn cast on half of stitches for the scarf, whereafter establish the other half of the scarf as shown in the tutorial pictures included in this pattern. The scarf is worked in Half Fisherman’s rib and by using short row shaping the centre part of the scarf is widest and slimming towards each ’wing / end’. Due to the short row shaping the cast on edge is curved while the bind off edge is straight.
Use the Italian bind off technique to bind off all stitches.
