A simple winter hat using a texture arising from the 5 dots on gaming dice.

I highly recommend the Estonian cast on for hats as it gives a nice stretchy edge that feels snug without being tight or binding. Also there is no need to do ribbing and can start right in with the pattern.

My instructions are for an average adult hat but can be sized up or down by decreasing or increasing by multiples of 8.

I like using a long circular needle for hats pulling out one loop for the body of the hat and when decreasing at the top pulling out the second loop for the magic loop method. The advantages being that the same needle is used for the entire project and there is no need to look for DPs when almost finished.

As with all textured patterns lighter colors show the pattern better.
