See Four Peaks for a rectangle-shaped variation of this design.

Worked on the bias, this shawl hugs the shoulders because it is shaped like a letter “L” (a triangle with 5 corners, not 3).

The Tunisian eyelets are crocheted as you go along the edges. A stitch borrowed from knitting (“simple cast on”) and macrame (double half hitch) is used along the left edge of each Forward Pass so that its stretch and drape equals the right edge.

For more information on this method of ending the left edge and why it’s important, see this blog entry.
