Five Points Hat
I LOVE hand-dyed sock yarn and I LOVE knitting hats so when it was time to design a one skein pattern for the 2014 Yarn Along the Rockies yarn crawl, a sock yarn hat was what I decided to design!
While the decrease works up as a five-pointed star, our store is also right near the Five Points neighborhood of Denver. So, there are two reasons for the hat’s name.
While the hat is pretty slouchy as the pattern is written, you could go ahead and make it slouchier. On the other hand, you could also make it about an inch or so shorter to make it more of a stocking cap.
As one of the one-skein patterns that each store participating in Yarn Along the Rockies gifted yarn crawlers, this pattern is free through the end of 2014 and the price will be discounted as soon as you click to buy it.
Hope you enjoy it!
errata: Original version of Round 2 of decrease should read: K7, k2tog, yo, p3tog, yo, ssk, k7; repeat four more times (95 STS).*
