Some days, I feel like I should give up knitwear design. On a day where I was especially tired and decided I was going to stop, inspiration struck for these socks, and they made me want to continue. They are fixing a hole in my heart, in my head, these socks are the start of something new.

They are worked toe-up, with a gusset and “faux heel flap”. There is a tiny bit of colorwork on the feet above the toes and an interesting eyelet pattern at the top of the leg. The cuff is two-color brioche. The pattern includes instructions on how to work increases for wider calves.

YARN & NOTIONS
Recommended yarn: 1 skein of Mylive Sockynette in Sarcelle + 1 mini skein of Mylive TwistySocky in Raja
If substituting yarn: One 100 g skein of fingering weight yarn and one 20g mini skein
Needles: US size 1 (2.25 mm), 40 in circular needles for magic loop
Other: Yarn needle to weave in ends

Finished sizes: 8 (9) inches or 20 (23) cm foot circumference

Il y a des moments où j’ai envie d’abandonner le design de tricot. Un jour, alors que j’étais particulièrement prête à laisser tomber, j’ai eu l’idée de ces bas, et ils m’ont aidée à retrouver ma motivation. Ils remplissent un trou dans mon cœur, dans ma tête, ils sont le début de quelque chose de nouveau.

Ils sont tricotés des orteils vers la jambe, avec un gousset et un “faux talon double”. Il y a un petit détail de jacquard sur le pied et une petite dentelle toute simple en oeillets dur le haut de la jambe. On termine le tout avec de la brioche deux couleurs. Le patron comprend les instructions pour faire des augmentations sur la jambe pour les mollets plus forts.
