Fizzy Water Cowl
Fizzy Water Cowl is a two-colored and two-sided cowl, whose pattern is achieved by slipping stitches. This technique is a bit of a mashup of brioche and double knitting. The name of this stitch pattern comes from the upward streaming bubbles in seltzer water.
This cowl can be knit in most any yarn thickness and in any combination of yarn weights you wish to try. Perhaps most important is to choose colors you like. As it uses so little yarn, it makes a great stashbuster. For the main color, choose a solid; for your contrasting color, feel free to use multiple odds and ends, multicolored or solid.
The pattern includes a stitch calculator that tells you how many stitches to cast on based on your swatch. (It’s pretty neat, if I may say so myself!) UPDATE: The stitch calculator works on all computer platforms, including the ipad and iphones. Simply download the Acrobat app and allow the app to open this file.
