Old pattern with a new twist! Baby booties with a flag on the sole. Celebrate St Patrick’s Day or any other national holiday.

This is reworking of an old pattern my grandmother taught me.

Small amounts of sock yarn are used to make the flag on the sole. Instructions are given for vertical and horizontal stripes.

The sole is knit flat then stitches are picked up and then the booties are knit in the round. Laces are crocheted (although an iCord can be substituted) and striped pompoms are added as a final touch. Instructions for the striped pom poms are included.
