Flamenciosa Shawl (crochet)
The Flamenciosa Shawl pattern guides you through creating a beautiful, highly-textured garment that’s a joy to create and to wear. The size and shape sits between a typical shawl and scarf, making it versatile in how you choose to style it. The hook size/gauge creates a lighter weight end result with airy stitches you can wear almost any time of year.
The crochet version was created by popular request as a counterpart to the original knit version (also available if you’re a knitter).
Flamenciosa originally launched as a kit with 4 exclusive hand-dyed colorways from Posies & Pockets curated especially for the pattern release on her luscious 85/15 DK weight (superwash Merino & nylon). You may use any 4 colorways of DK weight yarn you’d like, assigning each as colors A, B, C, and D in the pattern. Consider using cotton, linen, or bamboo for an even lighter weight summer style!
I consider this pattern to be an intermediate level worked mostly in double crochet (US terminology). If you’re an adventurous enough beginner, you can do this too! It requires keeping track of your progress row-by-row as increases and decreases are worked only on one side of the garment. Most of the stitches are worked either in the front loop, back loop, or post, so if you’re not familiar with the below terminology I recommend finding a tutorial online before starting this pattern. The written pattern includes highly structured formatting, a schematic, and plenty of notes to make it easy to follow and help ensure your success.
