Everybody needs a colourful sofa friend for gloomy days. Flamingo Jones is the perfect long legged companion.

He is knit in the round starting from the tail. Techniques include German short rows and intarsia. His legs are picked up once the body is finished so there is no seaming, although there is a little bit of embellishment with a needle.

You will need:
• 85g pink DK yarn
• 25g grey DK yarn
• 10g navy blue, black or dark grey DK yarn
• 3mm knitting needles (double pointed or circular)
• 3mm crochet hook (for picking up stitches)
• 2 openable stitch markers (optional)
• Large eyed sewing needle for embroidery of the face.
