This lovely cloche hat can be made from either wool or cotton - I needed more yarn when I used wool. Yarns pictured: The blue hat is made from Crystal Palace Merino 5 and the magenta hat is made from Tahki Cotton Classic. Use a contrasting yarn for the Swag Stitch and bow (like the magenta baby hat pictured, the bow is Crystal Palace Yarns Party - a fun ribbon yarn)

For best results, use a provisional cast on. I highly recommend Lucy Neatby’s provisional cast on. (Google for an excellent Youtube video tutorial)
