Flappy Owl Amigurumi
This cuddly owl has big, flappy wings and a smart, stripy pullover. Make him in any shade of brown, or white if you’d like a snowy owl, then pick two contrasting colours for his pullover, which is crocheted as part of his body.
The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters.
Yarn requirements:
Use double knitting (dk) weight yarn. Worsted weight should be fine as a substitute, as long as you use the same weight of yarn throughout. Amounts of yarn are calculated for double knitting weight only.
Approx 60g yarn for body and wings.
Approx 30g main yarn for pullover including ribbing.
Approx 20g secondary yarn for pullover stripes.
Small amount of yellow or black yarn for beak and claws.
Small amount of cream or white yarn for inner eye circles.
Small amount of dark brown or grey yarn for outer eye circles.
approx 50g Hayfield Bonus DK shade chocolate
approx 50g Stylecraft Special DK shade 1062 teal
You will also need:
Stuffing.
1 pair 16.5mm amber or yellow safety eyes.
Tapestry needle.
3.5mm hook (US E hook).
Finished size: approximately 6.5” tall
