Flaxen Prairie Shawl
This shawl is knit with fiber dyed in a specific manner. it’s called Assigned Pooling. Dawn Barker of Barker wool is an amazing dyer/designer and inspiration to me. I took her unique assigned pooling fibers and experimented with how the colors work when knit up using a specific amount of stitches, while knitting a fun textured pattern. To my surprise, an amazing, fun argyle like pattern appeared.
Prairie Flaxen Shawl knit with GG Loves Orange Farm Twist and Impression GG Loves Speckles can follow the Tosh Sport Pattern until the new one is added. 5 skeins of DK Farm Twist and 3 Skeins of Impression.
Hopefully you will love what you see as the pattern develops and just enjoy the journey. Changes are drastic with just a simple tug or loosening of the stitches. It’s definitely not boring.
You can reduce the width of the wrap by subtracting stitches in increments of 6. I always laugh and say ‘go big or go home’ so my shawls like to have a few skeins of yarn in them!
Another great thing about the Flaxen Prairie shawl is that there are many other fibers and weights that are perfect for this pattern. I am going to load more pdfs of more finished products as I complete them.. each pattern specifically written for the weight or variation. Lots more coming..
Once you purchase this pattern you will have acces to ALL of the PDFS.
