I found the three motifs that climb up the height of this cowl in a 17th century embroidery book. I like how the three motifs work together; the smaller motifs look like ripples and skipping stones but the larger motif looks like a braid. Fleaht is Old English for plait or braid.

Contrast Colour (CC) Colour A & B Fiberworks 4-Ply Alpaca 155 m / 115 g (170 yds / 4.1 oz), 1 ball. Colour Yellow-Green. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
