Fleckit

A warm hooded jacket for winter. Fleckit is Scots for speckled or dotted.

Gauge
22 sts and 30 rounds to 10cm / 4in over colourwork pattern in the round using gauge-size needle. If your gauge tends to tighten when working colourwork, you may find you need to go up a needle size. Use 4mm needle as a starting point for swatching.

This is garment with an easy fit, intended to be worn over layers. Select the size above your actual hip / bust measurements with the amount of ease required. Shown in the first size.

Pattern notes
This warm winter hoody is worked in the round, with a steeked front opening. Stitches are cast on, the steek bridge is established at the centre front and, after a few rounds of rib, a simple colourwork pattern is established, following a chart, and the body is worked to the underarms. Sleeves are similarly worked bottom-up, joined to the body for working in the round, and the hoody is shaped around the shoulders with raglan decreases. After shaping for the front neck is worked, the hood continues from the neckline, and, after the steek stitches are bound off, the hood top is joined by grafting. The steeked front opening is now cut from hem to hood top, and, after blocking, the front bands are finished with a zip. When one number is given it applies to all sizes.
