Fleur de Lis Illusion
The Fleur-de-Lis illusion knit design measures approximately 16 inches (40cm) square when using DK yarn and 3mm needles. It is designed to be viewed from the side so is ideal for use as an emblem on a garment, as a front/back for a cushion or as the centre piece for a wall hanging or bed cover.
The design is about as uncomplicated as it can get and would be a very good “starter” for someone new to illusion knitting.
The cushion seen in the photographs here has been knitted up, to my design, by speedknitter who used the pattern as the basis for an illusion knitting workshop she was running.
The final photograph shows my use of the LEGO 3D Designer to create an image of my Fleur-de-Lis design to check that it worked the way I wanted it to before I released it for knitting up.
