Flex is a hat that is universally flattering on everyone. It is an understated hat that just looks like store-brought ones but seasoned knitters will notice the unusual crown shaping that makes it unique.

Due to the nature of 1x1 Rib, the hat is very elastic and the folded brim makes it easy to adjust the height. You will come back to this pattern over and over again for the whole family. The pattern comes with both step-by-step photo and video tutorials of the 1x1 tubular cast-on.

Measurements are given in both centimeters and inches.

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle of length 40 cm / 16 inches; adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

3.5 mm / US 4 needles in your preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round, for crown shaping.

Gauge

28.5 sts and 24 rounds = 10 cm / 4 inches in 1x1 Rib worked in the round, blocked and unstretched (in the unstretched state, the purl stitches should be completely invisible).

18.5 sts and 26 rounds = 10 cm / 4 inches in 1x1 Rib worked in the round, blocked and slightly stretched.
