Wrap yourself in this sweet little pair of shawlettes. The Flame Shawlette features an allover diamond lace pattern, while the Flicker Shawlette has areas of the diamond lace pattern selectively removed creating an asymmetrical design twist on an otherwise traditional pattern. A generous 66” (168cm) wingspan means these versatile shawlettes can be worn as a scarf or as a traditional shawl.

This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.

CONSTRUCTION

Both shawlettes are knit in one piece (including the edging!) from tip to tip.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knit and purl stitches
  • Increase and decrease stitches - k1bl, yo, k2tog, ssk, sl1 k2tog psso
  • Slipped stitches

INSTRUCTIONS

The pattern is fully charted, however, a few beginning rows are written out to aid novice chart readers in following along, so don’t be intimidated if you are new to charts! There are NOT complete written row by row instructions for the entire shawl.

YARN NOTES

A fingering weight yarn with good stitch definition and little to no halo is recommended. Tonals will work, but highly variegated yarn may distract from the lace pattern.

ADDITIONAL NOTIONS

You will also need:
Tapestry/blunt yarn needle
Stitch marker
