Three-color stranded hat with hemmed brim and Russian bird/flower motif

Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash
Yarn A – Color 817 (Aran)
Yarn B – Color 855 (Maroon)
Yarn C – Color 809 (Really Red)

Gauge: 5.5 stitches & 8 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
Needles: US 6 16“ circular & doublepointed needles
US 2 16” circular needle

CAUTION: The floats will get REALLY LONG in the bird motif. Be sure to leave significant amounts of slack and twist the yarns at least every five stitches. I found that putting one ball of yarn to my left, one in front of me, and one to my right helped prevent too much of a mess. Still, you’ll probably have to unwind the yarn every now and then. There’s a reason fair isle is typically only two colors per row.
