Flip A Bag
Crocheted shopping bags are a great alternative to single-use plastic bags. And they are so quick and easy to make! You can even create several of them for use at different shops.
This bag is MUCH larger than the final product looks. It stretches to fit a whole load of items. However, handles are made for minimum stretch. What better way to shop for more yarn, than to head out with a bag made of yarn?
Bag is washable, depending on the yarn you use. Always follow the care instructions of the yarn manufacturer.
This pattern doesn’t have stitch counts in the rows. This is so you can make your bag as big or as small as you wish. The stitch count is not that important with this particular pattern, so it doesn’t matter if you have a different count with different bags. Just be sure you know where the beginning and ending of your rows are. Stitch markers are your friends! Use them often.
If you wish to make a tighter stitch, it is better to get a thicker yarn, instead of a smaller hook. Using a smaller hook will SIGNIFICANTLY decrease the size of your bag.
Remember, this bag is crocheted. This means it won’t be able to carry large heavy items. Overloading your bag can result in stretching out the material and ruining your bag. Be mindful of what you carry inside it.
