The Flip Out pattern set is so named because the items in this set are knitted inside out. At the end, you’ll flip the pieces outside in to reveal the beautiful stitch pattern. Why knit inside out? Firstly, because the basis of the fabric is a purl background, having the purl side of the cast on creates a cool “infinity edge.” Secondly, many knitters prefer knit stitches over purl stitches, so knitting these pieces inside out reduces the amount of purling. It’s a win-win. This set of patterns comes with instructions for a beanie, a cowl, and a headband. There are instructions for sizes s/m and m/l. Check the yarn recommendations for sizing.

Sizing
It is recommended that to do the adult s/m (child l/xl) use super bulky weight yarn. For the adult m/l version, use jumbo weight yarn. Adult s/m (child l/xl): to fit head sized 18” to 22” in circumference. Adult m/l: to fit head sized 19” to 23” in circumference. Sizes listed are length (half circumference) x height. See page 6 for visual size difference.
