This hat is great for beginners starting out and more advanced knitters looking for a fun and quick hat to knit up. I have included three ways to create your hat. This pattern uses rib stitch for the brim and stockinette stitch for the body.

The Original Pattern will include a flip-top brim with a snug fit. This is done by creating a brim that can be folded over. The brim before and after the fold are done in rib stitch. This creates a stretchy fit that fits snugly onto your head.

There are two other ways you can make your hat: a flip-top brim with a looser fit and a hat without a flip-top brim. The flip-top brim hat with a looser fit also has a ribbed brim that folds over onto the stockinette body, producing a looser fit. The hat without a flip-top brim has a brim that transitions into the body of the hat without a fold. Less yarn is required to produce this yarn because you won’t be producing the knitted fabric that has to be folded.

Happy knitting!
