The Flippend Pullover
Ideal for getting dressed in the dark on a cold morning, or for looking your avant-garde best at a winter soirée, this 4-way reversible pullover can be worn upside down or back to front… because it is identical in each direction.
The wide cowl-neck doubles as a cinched hem, while the roomy bodice, sloping shoulders, and tapering sleeves create a fluid silhouette.
Whether you prefer to work top-down or bottom up, this design will ‘flippendly’ accommodate. Knit it in a solid colour to tone down the quirkiness, or in stripes to highlight the unusual construction details. Keep an open mind and enjoy!

NOTES
CONSTRUCTION
This garment is knitted seamlessly, in the round, from end to end (there is no ‘top-down’ or ‘bottom-up,’ because it is the same in both directions). After the main body of the pullover is completed, sleeves are picked up by unraveling stitches from scrap yarn, and worked top-down. If you have knitted socks or mittens with ‘peasant’ heels or thumbs, or if you have knitted the Ciorcal Cardigan the sleeves here are worked in the same manner.
SAMPLE INFO.
The striped sample is a Size 3, worn with 15cm/ 6” of ease, 5cm/ 2” of ease, and 20cm/ 8” of ease by the models. Knitted with Höner och Eir Nutiden yarn, held double, in the Mörker and Ljus colourways (striped option), 230g of each colour.
The blue sample (model’s own - Knittingmummy1965 ) is a Size 4, worn with 15cm/ 6” of ease. Knitted with Drops Air.
YARN RECOMMENDATIONS
Although this pattern will work in almost any standard yarn suitable for the stated gauge, for the slouchy/ drapey characteristic shown in the samples it is best to use a lightweight yarn that can be worked above gauge (in other words, a yarn that is at most a DK weight, but can be worked at a gauge of 17 sts, which is more typically used with Aran weight yarns). Rustic woollen spun yarns will work well in this regard. Also, consider the following:
. unspun yarns
. blown yarns
. fingering weight yarns held together with lace-weight mohair
. brushed alpaca yarns
. boucle yarns
