Flirt Skirt
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $11.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $9.90 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $8.80 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $7.70 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
This skirt pattern is for a highwaisted A-line skirt with an elastic waistband. It is designed to hit about mid thigh in length, but this is easily customizeable. The pattern is #sizeinclusive and fits waists from 22-60 inches.
Sizes offered: 22 (24, 26, 28) {30, 32, 34} (36, 38, 40) {42, 44, 46} (48, 50, 52) {54, 56, 58, 60}
these sizes reflect the waistband measurement
Sizes 46” and up are untested as of now. If you are interested in knitting this pattern in any of the untested sizes, I will gift the pattern to you in return for feedback of the pattern and fit
REQUIRED: a length of 1 inch elastic to match your waist measurement. You will need the elastic to be either your exact waist measurement (comfortable fit) or approx. 1 inch less than your waist measurement (slightly snug fit). You will need to be able to sew the elastic ends together either with a sewing machine or hand sewn with a needle and thread.
make sure you get elastic that is nice and stretchy! You will need it to be able to stretch over your hips to get the skirt on. I have a waist-hip difference of 11 inches and had no problem stretching it over my hips.
Needles required: 5.5 mm (need a cord length close to your waist measurement, and one about double in length for once you’ve done a bunch of the increases)
may need other size needles to meet gauge
Gauge: 18 sts = 4 inches 22 rows = 4 inches
Yarn required: a dk or light worsted weight yarn ( I used Lion Brand Jeans, which is nice and lightweight!)
Just make sure that you can get gauge!
Yardage required: 555 (580, 610, 650) {740, 775, 800} (850, 950, 1000) {1030, 1070, 1130} (1170, 1200, 1250) {1350, 1380, 1410, 1450}
yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended length. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to add length
Recommended length: 16 (16, 16, 16) {17, 17, 17} (17, 18, 18) {18, 18, 19} (19, 19, 19) {20, 20, 20, 20} inches from waistband to bottom hem.
I know that length is totally a preference thing, so these are just rough guidelines so that I had something to calculate yardage for. I made size 28” waist with a length of 17” and that hit me mid thigh. I just sort of extrapolated to get a similar fit for the other sizes, but obviously height and length preference will vary greatly. Please message me if you want to do it in a length that is different and I can help calculate yardage!
