This Crochet Hat Pattern is sooooo cute, and would be just perfect for the upcoming Valentine season, or as part of a Queen of Hearts costume.

The hearts are made as the hat is constructed so that they float, and you don’t have to applique all of the hearts onto it.

Imagine all of the color combinations…pink and brown, black and red?? The bows at the base of the heart is precious!

This pattern is not for beginners, but I found it easy to make.

Hook sizes
H/8/5MM – 12mo through 2t
J/10/6MM -4t through tween sizes

Working around the post, joining new colors. All stitches are used, and some handsewing to attach to the bows.

A four-ply yarn that has body to it is necessary for the hearts to stand out. I made on using a “Soft” yarn, and the hearts would not stand out. Vanna’s choice, or any other 4-ply yarn with some stiffness would work beautifully, and less than a skein will be used in the construction.
