Floating Lanterns
This pattern was for a long time on my mind but it did get real form after my journey through China. The Lantern festival which is also called the festival of light is celebrated at New Years day in China. Thousands of burning lanterns are released on the river and float into the air. Everyone knows the famous pictures of it. The whole festival has different meaning over 2000 years of tradition. These days it all about coming together as a family and celebrate life, but in more ancient times this festival had more religious meaning. If you like to know more about it please read my detailed blogpost about it. For now, enjoy this special crochet pattern made out of hexagons, did you notice the entire blanket is even made in a lantern shape ?

And from now on we also have a Hungarian version made by Reka Erdei.
A small typo was detected on 11/08/19. In Round 7 there is said to crochet stitches in the loop of Round 6, however this has to be Round 5. After this date the pattern was revised.
