One of my favorite stitches is the broken rib because it is so stretchy and so squishy. However, I’ve always been drawn to the wrong side of knits and absolutely love the ridges and texture of a wrong-side broken rib. I decided to make a quicker version of my Floating Ribs Socks as boot cuffs. These cuffs, while purl-heavy, work up quickly, and the wrong-side broken rib is easy to memorize, so it’s perfect for some mindless knitting. You can use any sort of knitting in the round set-up you like, and the pattern can be modified for size or fit by adding stitches in multiples of two.

Needles
Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles or size needed to achieve gauge, either double pointed or circular, depending on your preference

Yarn
110 yards or 50 grams of fingering weight
