Floating Spiral Hat
The cables of the Floating Spiral Hat are deliberately misaligned and offset, creating an organic, flowing pattern that mimics the bark of a tree. Crown decreases are worked with the cable twists, creating an overall sculptural spiral effect.
Finished Size 18 3/4” brim circumference
Yarn Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed (85% wool, 15% angora; 96 yd 88 m/50 g): #8 green, 2 skeins. Yarn distributed by Knitting Fever.
Needles Size 8 (5 mm): 16” circular (cir) and set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
Gauge 30 sts and 32 rows = 4” in cable patt.
