This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms. With this easy and very detailed pattern, you can make a super fluffy and realistic looking squirrel with an acorn. Floof is a grey squirrel, but you can of course make a gorgeous red squirrel too.

Size
If you use the recommended yarn, the squirrel will be 5.5 inch / 14 cm standing.

Materials
For this crochet squirrel you’ll need worsted weight yarn (Lètt Lopi) and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook and lace weight yarn (Einband Lopi) held together, worked with the same hook. You’ll need three colours of Lètt Lopi: dark beige (0085), light grey (0054), half a skein of each is more than enough, and a left-over bit of light beige (0086). From Einband Lopi you’ll need brown 0853 and beige heather 0886. You’ll use these as one strand. For the eyes I’ve used 9 mm animal eyes. You also need fibrefill and a wide comb or fork to model the fluffy tail. A pipe cleaner for the tail is optional (not safe for small children).

The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.

Yarn
Istex Lett lopi & Einband Lopi for the tail is optional. You can also use one colour of Lett Lopi or anther worsted weight yarn if you prefer. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
