This is yet another car seat blanket with rounded bottom part. As we just had Easter holidays i thought it would be appropriate to create a blanket with a bunny - quite primitive silhouette of the bunny with floppy ears.
Pattern is presented as 13 page downloadable pdf with charts, written instructions and photographs. I would say this pattern is for intermediate level knitter, who is familiar with colour work/intarsia. I do however offer support on all my patterns so you can always get in touch either with a question, to share your feedback or a finished project.
I used Paintbox DK yarn and 3mm needles, which works for me as I knit fairly loose. My gauge was measured across the stockinette part and it is 21 sts x 30 rows after blocking. You might prefer working DK on 4mm needles and you gauge might differ, which is not crucial as it is for a blanket and not a fitted garment.
You will also need a cable needle, safety pins and tapestry needle. Stitch markers if you need them.
This blanket have 5 parts which are knitted separately and then assembled together.
As there are quite a few colour combinations (as little as 2 colours or as much as 6!) you can use for this blanket (and maybe use up some of the half-balls from your stash) I give yardage for each part:
So, for the border (top border and all around) you need about 45g
(150m/164 yd);
For the background about 60g (201m/220yd);
For both ears around 15g (50m/55yd);
For the body you need about 20g (67m/73 yd);
Scraps for the tail, about 5 meters.
Please check with your chosen yarn label as yardage can differ greatly for the same weight by different manufacturers.
As always, this pattern is for your personal use only meaning you cannot resell it nor the finished items made using it.
Thank you and happy knitting!
Big thanks to the ladies who tested the pattern for me - Diana, Elise and Sue.
