Any worsted weight or fingering weight held double will work for your hat as long as you have 4 oz of it.

This is a pretty straightforward hat pattern. If you have ever knit a beanie, this is an elongated version of that. The ribbing is nice and long and meant to be folded over. Not only does it provide extra warmth over your ears, it helps to hold the hat on as well. As you are decreasing for the top, change to dpns or magic loop when needed.
Shorter length is 17.25” from CO edge to tip, longer length is 21.25”. That measurement was taken after blocking.
