I used crochet hook NR 3 (metric system), D/3 - US, 10 - UK, some chart tables say a little different, but that does not affect the size.

I used 100 % cotton. Fingering to sport for US, and 2 to 4ply yarn for UK. I used my yarn in 4ply, as it was very thin, and I wanted it to reach my hook.
