This is Studio Mitsziko’s debut knitting pattern!

A beautiful, striped shawl featuring luxurious lace trim, i-cord edge and flowers created by assigned pooling (with a twist).

Difficulty: Intermediate-level

Measures: approx 61” wide (lace edge) x 67” long (i-cord edge)

Yarn: Solid Color in DK, about 164g/380yds (sample used A Chick That Knitz Merino DK in Admiral)

Assigned Pooling Color in DK, about 190g/440yds (sample used A Chick That Knitz Merino DK in Vintage Rose)

Lace Color in DK, about 68g/160yds (sample used A Chick That Knitz Merino DK in Pearl)

Needles: US 8 (5.0mm), 40” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: tapestry needle

Special Techniques: assigned pooling with a twist (explained in detail), i-cord edge, lace (added on live stitches, no chart)

Note: Swatching for the Assigned Pooling technique is critical to know ahead of time how many wraps will be needed for the floret cluster stitch. You will be able to unravel and reuse the swatch yarn before starting the project.

Assigned Pooling is a textural technique that forms little floret clusters at the color change. It was developed by Dawn Barker of Barker Wool. Be sure to check out her lovely patterns and colorways!
