Floral Kokon Blouse
Floral Kokon Blouse was born in collaboration with Kokon yarns. The name “Kokon” in many Slavic languages means “cocoon”, and so this design is: a beautiful floral cocoon, in which you’d want to hide from the outside world.
The pullover is worked top down seamless in the round, featuring floral colourwork running across the bottom of the yoke and continuing on the body. Sleeves have an elegant balloon shape, and both bottom and neckline edges are finished with stockinette hem in contrasting colour. Instructions for a classic fitted sleeve are also provided.
Yarn
Main colour: ca. 200 (300, 400) g of Kokon Chunky Mohair from Kokon yarn (78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon), with 100 m (109 yds) in 50 g, shown in Copper; estimated yardage 400 (600, 800) m /436 (654, 872) yds.
Contrasting colour: ca. 50 (75, 100) g of Kokon Chunky Mohair from Kokon yarn (78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon), with 100 m (109 yds) in 50 g, shown in Madder; estimated yardage 100 (150, 200) m /109 (164, 218) yds. Or any similar yarn to match the gauge. A list of alternatives also provided.
Sizes
The pattern is written for three sizes 1 (2, 3) to loosely fit 74–84 (94–104)(114–124) cm // 29–33 (37–41)(45–49) in bust circumference with ca. 16–26 cm // 6.3–10.3 in of positive ease. For the finished garment measurements, please refer to the graph. The sample is shown in size 1 on a 160 cm/5.3 feet tall model with ca. 84-66-94 cm // 33-26-39 in body measurements.
Needles and notions
A pair of 6.0 mm (US10) or 7.0 mm (US10.75) circular needles with 60–100 cm (24–40 in) long cables or a pair of interchangeable needles with spare cables; a pair of 5.0 or 6.0 mm (US8–10) needles for the hem edgings and cuffs; maybe a pair of 8.0 mm (US11) needles for the colourwork section; at least 4 removable stitch markers; a tapestry needle to seam the hem edges.
Gauge
12 sts & 16 rows in 10 cm (4 in) measured over stockinette stitch in the round after blocking on 6.0 mm (US10) needles (I am a loose knitter). Same or 1–2 sts smaller gauge for the colourwork is required. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Use a bigger size needle for colourwork.
