This top is an eye-catching addition to your summer wardrobe that is so flexible to wear that you’ll feel you have a different outfit each time you wear it! This also enables it to work well with a varied range of outfits, e.g., you could wear it over jeans for a casual summer outfit; or under a dark satin trouser suit for a dramatic evening look.

The v-stitch is such a fast, relaxing stitch to work you’ll be surprised how soon you’re ready to wear your outfit and the ribbing detail is still easy enough to crochet as you watch a favourite series.

It is designed to be partnered with the Floral Queen Capelet, a dramatic floral accessory that can also be worn multiple ways for the ultimate flexible feminine summer wardrobe.

Intended Ease: 5cm/2” negative ease around ribcage on bands, 6-12”/15-30cm at bust

Consider your body proportions when choosing a size: we’re all different shapes! If you find you get a good fit for both waist and bust in ready-made women’s clothing, choose the size to make based on your bust size. If ready-made clothing is typically tight on your bust but loose on waist, shoulders etc, select a smaller size than usual so the ribbing fits well and adjust following the guidance in the Make it Your Own section. If ready-made clothing is loose on your bust/chest but tight on your shoulders, etc, you could also select a smaller size than usual because the ribbing needs to be extra close fitting to prevent it slipping down the chest. There are more tips for figure types in the Make it Your Own section.

Tension: 5 sts by 8 rows = 4” square over V-stitch

Working method: strips of ribbing are joined into loops. The body is worked in the round from the one of the loops. The second is attached to the final edge of the tube top. A drawstring and loops are added to the upper ribbing.
