Florence Crest - Fleur de Lis; Giglio bottonato
I know I already have designed the Fleur de Lis Pouch, and that this is another variant of the Fleur de Lis, but I just had to share this.
I present: the Lily of Florence, Florentiner Lilie, Fleur des Lis of Firenze, il Giglio Bottonato, the Crest of Florence - this chart here.
Inspired by Assassins Creed II (which is an amazing game, and i which you get to run around in Renaissance Italy), I made a chart for this crest.
Actually I made another pouch with this design, but this was my first time doing proper Fair Isle and the red background color bled through the white and it looks ridiculous. I might upoad the picture of that later to show how the chart would look like when knit.
The classic colors for the crest are red on white, but, as I said, be careful when doing Fair Isle that the red doesn’t come through.
Have fun!
edit:
I added the picture of my failed pouch attempt; as you can see, the chart looks awesome, but the red yarn from fair isle bled through. That’s my fault, I’m new to proper Fair Isle and the choice of colors wasn’t very fortunate.
