Florence Polo
Introduction:
The Florence Polo is a 1970s-inspired top that will be a staple in your closet in all seasons.
Construction:
The polo is worked bottom-up in the round. You then separate the front and back and work in flat stockinette stitch. You then work the shoulders one at a time and seam them together. You pick up stitches around the neck and work a 1x1 rib polo collar. You then pick up stitches for each sleeve and knit in the round, working German Short Rows and decreases.
Note: Instructions are included on how to opt out of waist shaping. There is also an option to customize your sleeve circumference size.
Skill Level: Confident Beginner - Intermediate.
Gauge:
Stockinette in the round on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles, blocked:
4 in / 10 cm = 17 sts
4 in / 10 cm = 25 rows
Note: In order to get gauge you may need to go up or down a needle size. This is dependent on the yarn you use and your unique tension.
Sizes:
XXS-5XL
Your bust circumference:
XXS: 27-30 inches / 68-76 cm
XS: 31-34 inches / 78-86 cm
S: 34-36 inches / 86-91 cm
M: 36-38 inches / 91-96 cm
L: 40-42 inches / 101 - 107 cm
XL: 44-46 inches / 111-117 cm
XXL: 48-50 inches / 122-127 cm
3XL: 52-54 inches / 132-137 cm
4XL: 56-58 inches / 142-147 cm
5XL: 60-63 inches / 152-160 cm
Ease: Approximately 0” ease. If you would like positive ease on your garment for a looser fit, I recommend sizing up and opting not to do waist shaping.
Note on sizing: If you would like to have an oversized fit, feel free to size up and opt for the no-waist-shaping option in the pattern.
