Florence The Lion

Florence the lion was inspired by Helen Stephen’s books ‘How to Hide a Lion’ and ‘How to Hide a Lion from Grandma’.
Any dk yarn can be used, along with a 3mm crochet hook to achieve tighter stitches so the stuffing doesn’t show through when Florence is finished. The tension isn’t critical and so has not been stated, as a slightly different tension will just give a slightly different sized lion. The original Florence is approximately 15cm tall. I have used both brown and yellow yarns, with no more than 100g required in total.
You’ll also need buttons for the eyes, brown embroidery thread for the face and paw details, and polyester toy stuffing.
Any comments or feedback would be welcome.
