Florence The Owl
Let Florence The Owl look after your phone, favourite pair of glasses or crochet hook collection. Inspired by vintage macrame wall hangings Florence looks stylish and takes less than 2hrs to make - a perfect stocking filler! A simple drawstring opening is easy to use and will keep those valuables safe and snug too.
This is a written pattern in US Crochet Terms with full charts and step-by-step photos showing the making process.
The following techniques are used:
- beginner crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch)
- intermediate crochet stitches (shell stitch, puff stitch, crab stitch, working in front or back loops only)
- make a chain
- work in a round
- work in a row
You will need approximately 30gr of DK cotton yarn such as Debbie Bliss Eco Baby and about 30cm of cord to make the draw string. Finished pouch made with DK cotton yarn and 3.75mm hook will measure 14cm by 7cm (this will fit an iPhone5s and similar size phones). Using a 4.00mm hook will give a pouch 15cm by 8cm, this will fit a larger smart phones or a pair of glasses.
