The Flores Shawl is worked the top-down in two stitch patterns creating an asymmetrical look. Different pattern on each side of row provide an interesting to crochet project. One side of the row is worked in double crochet stitches while the other side is worked in mesh stitch.
This project can be easily adapted to a lager or smaller size by changing the pattern repeats. The sample shown use two skeins of fingering weight yarn, but this shawl will look awesome in heavier yarn too.
An adventuorous beginner could happily make this shawl, and more experienced crocheters will also enjoy this intuitive pattern.
Materials & Tools:
- Yarn SCHEEPJES Our Tribe 100g = 420m, 70% Merino Superwash and 30% Polyamide, 2 skeins. For the shawl sample I used It’s all in a Nutshell (973) colorway.
- Hook size 3,5mm. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
- Tapestry needle (to weave and hide yarn ends).
- Scissors.
Level: Beginner +
Size after blocking:
Wingspan - 182cm, Center depth - 83cm
Gauge after blocking:
After Row 7 the triangle is approx. 10cm/4in high.
Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirements and the finished size.
Notes:
• The pattern uses US crochet terminology.
• The shawl is worked top-down in one piece.
• The pattern includes the stitch chart.
