It is necessary to block this doily .
This doily will most likely start to cup/bowl during Round 18. The cupping/bowling will intensify to the completion of Round 23 and will remain so until it is blocked. It is not caused by a lack of stitches, but the stitch combinations used in those rounds. From Round 24 onwards the doily will then ruffle. This is a product of the cupping/bowling of the previous Rounds. PLEASE DO NOT change your tension or hook size in an effort to “flatten” it as you work it up. This pattern has been tested by 7 people, it DOES flatten easily when blocked. If you are concerned about the shaping I have included a file called “PROGRESS PHOTOS”, which contains photos of the entire doily from Round 18 onwards, so that you can visually compare to your own work.
