Floret Shawl
This shawl was designed to really let variegated yarn shine. Simple moss stitches make up the body of the shawl, and a floral lace edge is added at the end along the non-decreasing side. The overall shape creates a right triangle. Blocking pins are essential for the floral lace, so make sure you have some on hand!
This shawl starts with the widest edge and decreases to the tip so the shawl becomes easier as you go
Size:
36.67”/93.1 cm long x 35.75”/90.8 cm wide, blocked and includes lace
36.67”/93.1 cm long x 33.25”/84.5 cm wide, blocked and without lace
Materials needed:
- US H8/5.00mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
- KnitPicks Hawthorne, weight 1/fingering (80% superwash fine highland wool/20% polyamide, 100 g/3.53 oz, 357 yds/326 m), 920 yds/841.2 m
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Blocking pins (both T pins and blocking combs)
- Blocking mats (you can also use towels)

Please note that many of my testers ended up going down in hook size to get close to gauge. Meeting gauge is not crucial to this pattern, but it will affect your overall shawl size.
Their average yarn use was 835 yards.
Skills needed:
- Foundation single crochet
- Decrease
- Picking up stitches along edges of rows
- Chaining and using the treble crochet st for the lace
A huge thank you to my group of testers for working with me on this pattern! I’m grateful for your time and patience <3.
