Floribunda Socks
The Floribunda socks feature beautiful twisting cables combined with eyelets and a contrasting toe. The summery pattern was inspired by the vines of twisting wisteria growing in our garden and would make the perfect project for your summer knitting.
The pattern includes instructions for both cuff down and toe up construction, and charts are included for the cable and lace pattern.
Yarn: The pattern uses approximately 350yds/320m of fingering weight yarn. The sample shown uses a 100g skein of Big Sky Yarn Co. Sun-Dance Sock in the “Band of Horses” colourway (400yds/365m per 100g), and 10g (40yds/37m) of Moonstone Dyeworks BFL Sock in the “Crescent Moon” colourway (400yds/365m per 100g).
Recommended Needle Size: 2.5mm (US Size 1) or appropriate size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 30 sts / 42 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch
Size: One size – foot uses 62 sts, leg uses 63 sts and cuff uses 64 sts. The width/circumference can be adjusted by using a different needle size. For a medium sock (8 inch circumference) I used a 2.5mm (US Size 1) needle. Please note that the cable texture provides a tighter fabric, and I found a better fit by using a needle one size larger than I usually would when knitting socks. Length is customisable.
