An airy, open-front cardigan with bracelet-length sleeves, a deep back pleat, and a bit of waist shaping. The sweater fronts are slightly wider at the bottom for a subtly draped look. A simple, graphic, eyelet-and-rib pattern forms the front bands and is repeated on the inside of the pleat.

Construction notes
Floriston is a mostly seamless design. It is worked skirt first, from the empire line to the hem. When the skirt is complete, stitches are picked up at the cast-on edge, and the bodice is worked in one piece to the underarms. Fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders, then joined using a 3-needle bind-off. The sleeves are picked up from the armholes, their caps shaped with short rows, then worked in the round to the cuff. The front bands are cast on separately and joined to the body of the sweater as they are worked.

Stitch patterns are provided in chart form and as written, row-by-row, instructions.
