Flounce duo (skirt)
This is part of a skirt and top duo. (The top is not yet in Ravelry’s database.)
From the pattern description:
Made in easy-care linen, with A-line shaping in both the top and skirt, this pair is designed to be a wardrobe staple. The skirt features an elastic waistband and a main fabric made in a variation of twisted stockinette for additional elasticity. The top echoes the design elements in the skirt. The flounce at the bottom edge of both pieces becomes wider with each change in lace pattern.
Yarn requirements: 1175 (1300, 1400, 1500, 1625, 1750) yards.
Also requires 1 1/4 yards of 1” non-roll elastic, markers, safety pins, crochet hook, and waste yarn.
The US needle sizes recommended are not those that coordinate with the millimeter sizes in Ravelry’s needle sizes, presumably due to non standardized sizing in this range. The pattern suggests “3mm/US 3” and “2.5mm/US 1.”
The skirt is worked top down, the inner part of the waist band worked flat so as to leave a slit for elastic insertion after joining the provisional cast on stitches to the work. The body of the skirt is worked in a Twist Stitch pattern, with increases along vertical lines, down to an entrelac flounce, which widens by varying lace patterns.
The lace patterns for the entrelac are provided in both charted and written form, but the rest of the pattern is written, although there are diagrams for the entrelac.
