With these supplemental patterns you’ll be able to customize our Classic Bunny or Classic Teddy Bear with a knitted flower, butterfly or cupcake in the body section. Whether for a little girl who loves flowers and butterflies, or just to make your new friend a little more like you, this pattern offers one more option to help make your bear or bunny uniquely yours.

These 3 patterns are supplemental body patterns for our Knitted Classic Teddy Bear or Knitted Classic Bunny Pattern. You must buy the basic Classic Bunny or Classic Teddy Bear pattern as well, as this pattern is just 3 different variations given for the body section of these patterns.

If you’re new to knitting stuffed friends, or are uncomfortable winging it without strict guidelines (that’s OK, we all need good directions sometimes to help us out) you will need approximately 85m of Medium weight yarn and approximately 5m each of various colours to make the flower, butterfly or cupcake. With this yarn, use 4mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need a small amount of yarn for embroidering the face, stuffing (we use ecofil or wool) and a tapestry needle to sew your bunny or bear together. This will let you create a bunny or bear that’s approximately 19cm (7.5 inches) in length.

The beauty of knitting stuffed friends is that this pattern can be knit in any size yarn with accompanying needles. Generally we find using a size or two smaller needles than required by the yarn allows for the tightness needed when you’re stuffing your finished product.
